Richard Paul Rossi Born Nov. 6, 1922 entered into rest on Friday, October 30, 2009 surrounded by his family. Loving and devoted husband of sixty-two years to Virginia, father to Paul, Anne Shelley (Terry), Carlo (Missy), John, and Lynne Horiuchi (Gordon). Survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter Sarah Ellen, grand-daughter Kristen Lynne, sister Elena Long and daughter-in-law Alice Rossi. He is also survived by brother Robert (Evelyn) and numerous nieces and nephews. A graduate of Santa Clara University School of Engineering (Class of 1944) and a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Angels Parish for sixty years. Mr. Rossi was the grandson of Pietro Carlo Rossi (Amelie), wine-maker and first president of Italian Swiss Colony Wines. Son of Robert and Nellie Rossi, he was a native of San Francisco, graduated from St. Ignatius High School (Class of 1939) and retired from Binks Mfg. after a career that spanned 49 years as Branch Manager. The patriarch of four generations, Mr. Rossi was proudest of his family and friends; he loved traveling, spending time at his summer home at Asti in Sonoma County and also enjoyed his semi-annual vacations to Hawaii. The family would like to extend their heart-felt thanks to Visiting Angels (Karen, Irene & Joyce) and all those who have offered their support and prayers during this time. Friends may pay their respects Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 6:30 P.M. at Our Lady of Angels Church, 1721 Hillside Dr. Burlingame, CA and are invited to attend the Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass at church, Thursday, November 5 at 10:00 A.M. followed by Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA In lieu of flowers, contributions in the name of Mr. Rossi may be made to the Capuchin Franciscan Friars, 1345 Cortez Ave., Burlingame 94010.
